What did I do for the storm this past weekend? I cooked! I'd grabbed some steaks from the store earlier in the week in preparation for the weather, so after grabbing some fresh rosemary from the garden and thawing its 1/4-inch casing of ice, I got to work. Here's what I did ( Read more... )

I have to admit the few recipes I have for mixing rice with steak have tended to be Mediterranean. Aside from chicken-fried steak, which I've seen with buttered rice, it isn't done much. Which doesn't mean it can't be or shouldn't be!

Sounds yummy btw. :) Definitely time for you to hie yourself to BB&B and get a splatter shield.

The rosemary garnish, dare I say be careful. I love rosemarey but... I had a nice egg plant dish that I garnished with rosemary. We ate. It was good. I refrigerated the extra with the garnish still in place. It tasted like pine sol. Potent stuff, rosemary.
