[Thursday's voice is light, but there's an undercurrent of barely suppressed anger there.]

So.

That was a flood, I suppose.

What an utter bitch. If I insulted anyone or anything during...all of that, consider this a formal apology. If there's any way I can make it up to you, please tell me ( Read more... )

thursday needs a drink, weird shit, is this going to be a regular thing, last voyages, post-flood shenanigans

Madame Next, she did not harm me terribly much. A few bruises and a wounded ego. And I did guess that she wasn't quite you.

Are you... perhaps we can meet for a drink or something? I know recovering from being affected by a flood can be troublesome.

She is and she isn't. It's not technically her fault--she was written that way--but everyone had to suffer the consequences. It's difficult to explain.

I...would like that very much. Shall I meet you at the bar?

Did you write her that way?

But yes, I'll meet you there.

I don't believe I'd be able to live with myself if I had.

[and click. She's switched off the feed.]

I think anything and everything that happened to anyone affected falls under the criteria of generally embarrassing experience.

I won't hold nothin' against you. [You didn't plant gas bombs like some people he could name.]

I had better get used to this, then. I'm glad it ended when it did; GSD knows what trouble she could have caused otherwise.

Thank you.

Honestly it's not too much weirder than my usual job, just this time it irritated the shit out of me. I guess I need to keep reminding myself of that.

Oh? What's your usual job?

I'm always up for a drink. I think I slept through most of the flood though.

You were lucky, then.

It's Wally, right? I'll meet you at the bar in a few minutes.

I'll see you there. Miss Next, was it?

That's right. Call me Thursday, though. Miss Next makes me feel excessively young or excessively old--I'm not sure which.

[Grimly] I would. She deserved it really.

I'm glad you're all right, though.

I can respect that. It doesn't change the fact that she should have helped, though.

Let me know if there's anything you need--although if it's something that isn't a stiff drink, the infirmary would probably be better off helping.

Getting cussed at. That was a great experience. Thanks for that.

...if it helps, she caused actual violence to a few other people. Though I'm not sure if you value your ego or your physical well-being more.

Yeah, well. She seemed to talk a lot of shop. I wanted to see if there was any bite behind it.

There probably would have been if you'd got close enough.
