He wiped the back of his hand across his forehead, his blood-shot eyes glancing
suspiciously at his senpai.  He breathed in deeply, trying to calm himself down.  Unlike
him, his senpai's closed eyes revealed none of his emotions.  Although they had been at
this game for longer than Kirihara liked, he was determined not to let his annoyance
show.

"Fifteen...um...damn it!"

He hated losing count.

Yanagi shook his head, amused.

"I believe that the next number is sixteen."

Kirihara snarled as he jotted the number down and pushed the paper towards his
unrelenting tutor.

"Can I leave now?"

Yanagi didn't bother to look at the half-finished assignment.  "Not until you prove to me
that you can count in English for your test tomorrow."

The second-year tennis ace kicked the leg of the table. "It's only an English test."

"Yes, but you received a 53% on your first exam, a 49% on the second one, surprisingly,
a 71% on the third one, which by the way, is only a barely passing score, a 43% on the
fourth one..."

Kirihira listened in horror as Yanagi listed out all of his exam scores.

The clock ticked.

"...and a 50% on the last one," finished Yanagi.  He opened his eyes and stared straight at
Kirihara, who wanted to hide behind his book.

"If you don't ace this next one, you might get kicked off the team."

"Okay, okay! I'll finish this..." grumbled Kirihara, snatching the assignment back.

What did he do to deserve this personal hell of his?

Yanagi just smiled.
