Grrr! I called the Foreign Desk tonight around when I thought my dad would be leaving Iraq (or would have just left), but apparently he is not leaving until Saturday... Why is it that these last few days are making me so crazy? He's been there (and mostly safe) for 7 weeks... what's another 2 days? Argh!

My dad is set to leave Iraq on Thursday or Friday of this coming week! Hooray! I am SO glad he is leaving! And that he is leaving for a safer place, not being sent to Saudi Arabia or something. We're on the home stretch! My weekend just became fabulous! In spite of all of the lab reports I have to grade!

I have survived week 4. I have survived the midterm from hell. I even went to a bar last night with some other first year grad students AND I even drank alcohol! Dustin fixed my computer! I have sound again! It was Adam's suggestion that did it! They are my heros! Hooray for sound! And exclamation points!

I have survived this weekend. It was a toss-up there around hour 8 of the midterm, when I started to think that poking my eyes out with my pencil would be a much more useful, ummm, use of my pencil than trying to do any more chemistry. I am 3 hours into the hardest test I have ever taken in my life. I have two more hours to go... today. And then tomorrow I get another 5 hours of synthetic hell. I am in so much pain.

I think this is the worst, yet. I'm in shock. I want him home. Now. Especially after this.  Anyway, here's the latest installment.

She's back! The pound picked her up on the east side of town (she was stolen on the western-most side of town). We are 99.99% sure it is her! She's home! I'm so glad! I can't believe it! She was missing for almost a month! But it's her. My parents (and our other dogs) seem to believe it! What were the chances???
