Oh, I thought you were talking about me! I think actually you friended me (due to mutual LJ interests) and then I stuck around because your LJ is so good to read.
I wish there was a way to take such peeps off your list. Of course they don't gain anything by being there b/c they can't read anything, but still their presence is annoying. Esp those whom haven't ever updated and haven't been active for forever.
Yeah. I have a few folks who used to be mutual friends but aren't anymore because they haven't updated in literally years. Those folks I'm not mad about. It's the random strangers.
Sometimes I wish LJ was like MySpace where you can only make someone a "friend" if they give permission!
I have a random LJ friend. Can they see my private posts? I don't know who this person is or where they came from either. Boo. What can I do about them?
Private posts can only be seen by you (and, of course, anyone with full LJ database permissions [a database admin]); friends entries can only be seen by people whom you list as friends. (Their friending you means nothing other than you can see their friends entries; it's a little stronger than bookmarking your page, but only a little.)
People can't see your "friends-only" posts unless you add them as a friend. When they add you as a friend, they are giving you access to their "friends-only" posts.
I actually can't remember why I originally friended you. I was probably randomly surfing through journals and found yours to be one of the most interesting. It's maintained that level of interest too. And maybe because we're in similar places in our lives.

I also wish myspace was like lj where you could allow some info public and some private.
