I have a random LJ friend. Can they see my private posts? I don't know who this person is or where they came from either. Boo. What can I do about them?
Private posts can only be seen by you (and, of course, anyone with full LJ database permissions [a database admin]); friends entries can only be seen by people whom you list as friends. (Their friending you means nothing other than you can see their friends entries; it's a little stronger than bookmarking your page, but only a little.)
People can't see your "friends-only" posts unless you add them as a friend. When they add you as a friend, they are giving you access to their "friends-only" posts.
Who knows. I mean, many of my LJ-friends I met randomly, but we all introduced ourselves. You know, "Hi, I'm Julie, I live in DC, too...we have lots in common...I added you." It creeps me out when people don't do that. Or on the rare occasion that they do, you're still not interesting in being LJ-friends with them (for whatever reason), and then they still just...lurk. CREEPY.
they don't creep you out. you are weird. this is the internet. just keeping a livejournal IS CREEPY. i bet you have a myspace too. that's even creepier!

If you don't have anything nice or constructive to say, why not keep your thoughts to yourself?
