Last episode was the type that turned me off of Lost last season. It wasn't engaging enough. There was way too much filler. I felt there was absolutely no suspense to the court room stuff. We know Kate doesn't really get put away, and I was 98% sure it was Aaron as well

Yeah, the episode was pretty bland. The flash forwards didn't really reveal anything, other than what a good part of the "story" they came back with was.
You're probably right that it's the Hanso foundation that those people belong to... and Miles motives might be money, but I suspect the Hanso foundation picked him for a very deliberate reason... so they might have convinced him to work for them for money, but his intended purpose was something different.
I find it weird that Locke gave in that time to Ben... I figured he really was evolving. Ah well, I guess we'll see what happens this week...
