Last episode was the type that turned me off of Lost last season. It wasn't engaging enough. There was way too much filler. I felt there was absolutely no suspense to the court room stuff. We know Kate doesn't really get put away, and I was 98% sure it was Aaron as well.

However, I was glad to see that Miles' motive was just money. I imagine he's just working for the Hanson Foundation for money, as each of the 4 people on the helicopter appear to be working for their own motives. That's my big puzzle this season - who are these people? I believe they're working for the Hanso Foundation, but why send in this rag tag group of oddball characters on their own? Is this an A-Team thing?

I'm intrigued by Ben's comment about Locke finally evolving. That's always been my explanation about the Island, and the underlying purpose of everybody being there. Locke is finally not looking for love, being comfortable with himself & his 'zany' ideas - but in the end, Ben sticks a thorn in, and Locke crumbles like he always does.

The great irony (I guess) in Lost, is that the people who are finally found (in the biblical sense) die. I remember reading an article a long time ago about Quentin Tarantino's movies & why they're so popular - Hollywood loves redemption stories. And that's what Lost ultimately is, I believe. Everything else is just shits & giggles.

Yeah, the episode was pretty bland. The flash forwards didn't really reveal anything, other than what a good part of the "story" they came back with was.

You're probably right that it's the Hanso foundation that those people belong to... and Miles motives might be money, but I suspect the Hanso foundation picked him for a very deliberate reason... so they might have convinced him to work for them for money, but his intended purpose was something different.

I find it weird that Locke gave in that time to Ben... I figured he really was evolving. Ah well, I guess we'll see what happens this week...
