Masculinity
Last class we discussed masculinity in media and used the movie "The Longest Yard" as the example. While watching the movie we watched for stereotypical masculine traits. First one i noticed is that it's in a prison, stating that men behave badly. Others I noticed were that a large number of men had muscles, but there were two or three who showed the extreme side of this. The whole movie was about a sport (football) and all men love football, right?
Other traits i noticed was the cheeseburger guy, and the fat guy, so i guess we eat a lot? One big one was the 'gang' kind of thing, where they usually hang out with groups of people like a pack to make them look more fearsome or intimidating.
These are only a few of the traits that are in the movie and I suggest you watch it and see if you can spot some yourself.
