[Translation] Wink Up 07/2012 I'm Far From It: Hagiya and Yasui
More of these two (´ ▽｀)♡. The title of this magazine page was a bit odd to me: usually, when a person says "I'm far from it" they're trying to deflect a compliment by insisting they aren't really that talented. But both of these guys spoke about things that they actually are good at. Perhaps the title should have been "I'm It!"? Anyways, YasuKen talked about his awesome Senga impersonation from Kurie, while Hagiya focused on how he's become better at memorizing choreography. They both look quite nice in the picture, although I'm not a huge fan of how Keigo styled his hair here; I think he looks better with unpermed.
Kentaro Yasui: At Kurie, we had the [Search For Senga-kun Corner]: for that corner, Senga-kun and two juniors hid backstage and and answered questions using a voice-changing microphone. Miyata-kun and the others would then try to figure out which person was the true Senga. Each junior had a chance to go, but when it was my turn, I turned into Senga-kun completely. So it became like: “if we put that guy in, it’ll be funny,” and I ended up always being a part of that corner. Even though I thought that I’d never be able to call myself funny, it’s become apparent to me that I can (smile). It’s important to challenge things and not to think “this is impossible” from the start. From now on, I want to do lots of things and expand upon my abilities.
Keigo Hagiya: Though it’s only by a small degree, I’ve become able to memorize choreography faster. But really, only to a certain extent (smile). This time, I was given the opportunity to appear in Kisumai’s Dome and Kurie, so there was a lot of choreography that I had to learn starting from scratch. Because so far, I’ve appeared in many of Hey!Say!JUMP’s concerts. Hey!Say!JUMP’s type of dancing and Kisumai’s type of dancing are pretty different, aren’t they? I had to remember the dances in a short amount of time. I wonder if doing my best and becoming able to do dances of a different type could be called personal growth. The way I feel when I stand onstage has also changed considerably, I think. Because I’m becoming more and more conscious of the fact that I have to demonstrate what I’ve done well.
