[Translation] Wink Up June 2011 Smile A Sweet Smile

May 17, 2011 21:06

Here is the first of the three fresh junior pages from the June 2011 issue of Wink Up. The theme of the photo-shoot is "Smile A Sweet Smile." The juniors that appeared on this page are: Yūya Taniguchi, Yūta Kishi, Ryūsei Akiba, Kyōhei Nishimoto, Kaoru Kuramoto, Shōri Satō, and Sou Matsushima.

Yūya Taniguchi: The sempai I admire is Arashi’s Ninomiya-kun! I’ve been watching Ninomiya-kun’s dramas for a while, thinking: “he sure is cool.” The thing that I especially like {about Ninomiya-kun} is his dance for [Monster]. Because I’ve been reading the magazines in my big sister’s room for a while, I know that it was written in one of them that he likes games. I like games just like Ninomiya-kun, so it made me happy to read that (smile). The thing I want to work on from now on is that I still can’t dance well and that makes me want to practice more!

Yūta Kishi: Right now, I’m being given the opportunity to appear in [Takizawa Kabuki], and I think that the level of Takizawa-kun’s professional ability is amazing, which makes me admire him. When we met, the way he kindly smiled and shook my hand made me feel at ease. When he’s backstage he talks and smiles, but during the real performance his serious expression is so cool! I want to work hard at everything, but the thing I most want to improve at is dancing. I’m working hard so I can get better quickly!

Ryūsei Akiba: The person I admire is Yūma Nakayama-kun! Before, I was given the opportunity to appear on [The Shōnen Club] and dance with Yūma-kun, and the expression he had at rehearsal was completely different from the one he had during the real show. The sharp transformation was clearly visible, and I thought it was amazing. The way he speaks the Kansai dialect is cool too, and I like it. Rather than wanting to work on a single thing like dance, I want to do my best at becoming someone who can cheer up the children of the fans!
Cuuuute, Ryūsei, wanting to make all the little kids happy ^^. Then their moms will definitely love you.

Kyōhei Nishimoto: I’ve always admired Hey!Say!JUMP’s Yamada-kun, even before I entered Johnny’s juniors. From [Tantei Gakuen Q] onward, I’ve watched almost all of the dramas that Yamada-kun appeared in. During this year’s new year, I was able to hold a microphone during JUMP’s concert’s MC segment, and when I announced: “the sempai I like is Yamada-kun!” Yamada-kun hugged me! I was super happy. Since I’m really bad at singing, my goal is to practice more and become able to sing well.

Kaoru Kuramoto: The sempai I admire is Arashi’s Aiba-kun. Before, watched one of his concerts, and I thought he was really cool~. I also like the television programs that Aiba-kun appears in, and I watch them. Also, one of the reasons why I joined Johnny’s was because I wanted to meet Aiba-kun. I was so happy when I got the chance to get close to him and meet him at the charity event! Someday I sure would like to try talking to him. I want to do my best at having a cheerful character so people will tell me that I’m just like Aiba-kun!

Shōri Satō: The person I admire is NEWS’s Koyama-kun! Recently, I watched NEWS’s DVD, and I felt that his skinny style was cool. He’s tall, and the way he dance beautifully, even his fingertips, is amazing! Someday I want to try backdancing for NEWS, but it’s still a while before I can. That’s because when I appeared in ~Tōzai Uta Gassen,” I was still so nervous that I couldn’t remember anything (smile). Also, I admire ABC-Z’s Totsuka-kun. He’s really skillful, and the way he can do anything is awesome!
Anybody who can read hiragana and katakana will notice something funny about Shōri’s description of Koyama, and that is that he uses the phrase “スラッとしてる.” In Japanese, calling someone a “スラット” or a “スラッと” means that they’re skinny… Not what it sounds like in English xD.

Sou Matsushima: Hey!Say!JUMP’s Chinen-kun. At first I was drawn by his voice. When I watched [Nintama~], I thought that he had such a nice voice {without knowing who he was}. Then my big sister kindly told me that his name was Chinen-kun, and as I watched the DVD, he gradually became someone who I admired. I also admire Jesse Lewis-kun. He nicely did things like teach me a dance, he’s really kind. I read Wink UP before I entered the juniors. Even now, I use Wink Up to investigate the names of people I don’t know (smile).
Sou Matsushima. Nickname: Mattsu. Birthday: November 27th, 1993. 13 years old (second year middle school student). Blood Type: A. Hometown: Shizuoka. Height: 143cm. Weight: 37kg. Shoe Size: 24.5cm. Strength: Cheerfulness. Weakness: I’m a little my-pace. Hobby: Snowboarding and cooking. Talent: Karate. Favorite Food: Grapes and, if it’s sashimi, reef shark. Hated Food: green peppers and eggplant. Reason For Joining Johnny’s: Because I admire Chinen-kun. Favorite Type of Girl: a nice, interesting girl.
