1) Minx made a comment in Poly Weekly, episode 264, "Wait, We're Monogamous?" where she addressed some drunk redneck who hit on her. Me too/three. Even though my metamours other than Tony are LDRs now, I got a valentine from one of them this year that I'm still giggling about. My relationship with that one fulfills different things than my relationship with Tony too.

Yeah, I have felt like your friend Cindy for a long time. I agree, a lot of poly communities consist of people who just want to have fun and only reserve a deep relationship for either thier primary partner or for that distant partner in the future when they supposedly settle down.

I hope Cindy eventually found some poly-permanence.

This attitude always boggles me. To my mind there is nothing more impermanent and throwaway than serial monogamy - What? The partner you have isn't *perfect* for you? Then clearly the answer is to throw away the relationship you have and start building a new one from scratch with someone you barely know! Yet apparently this is the only route to a committed lifelong relationship? I don't get it. I don't get it at all ( ... )
