So last night I read again with the Balkans history and learned about the Bulgars and their pretty neat empire

It looked like it was sandwiched between Roman lands and Byzantine, but they held their own pretty darn well it seems.

They even spoke of one Bulgar king/han that had a few unspoken ceremony's, and apparently historians aren't sure what ( Read more... )

The book that I will base my reflections on is called "The Balkans: From Constantinople to Communism" by Dennis P. Hupchick
