After some updating to 1.2 at least, I decided to start over on my communist France DAR...
Starting off, I got both the heavy tank TD mod as well as the AA heavy tank mod
N.B. Already: even if you have mass airplanes and naval ships, you still need naval bombers to support your ships -_-....more on that later
Figured out how to support my African, Asian, and middle eastern colonies and proceeded to do that
Had to eventually make two seperate production lines of Light tanks - much later, at least
Towards the ending of this narrative, I got Infantry Equipment II researched, so Germany will be feeling pain soon ^_^
Here we go:
I did not overtly help Republican Spain in this playthrough, but did give them more lend-lease and later after Japan declared war on non-communist China, found out that I could send actual products and not just the supplies necessary to create them :D
Anyway, I built up my forces on three at-home fronts: Iberia, Alpine/Italy, and Germany/Belgium/etc.
I saw that Italy was throwing more divisions of Infantry towards their lines, but upon further inspection, found that they had less infantry per division than what I was fielding, so if it comes to that, we will see what happens.
I at first joined the Comintern, but when the Munich agreement event happened, I supported the Czech's and left the Comintern and became able to form my own faction, and the Czech's joined it.
Thusly, I entered the war between Germany and the Czech's and put my "micro" skillz to the test :)
I over-ran the German front-lines at first but found that the friendly AI, if given offensive lines way out, will not do well with battles on the way there and start losing them, so I had to start micro'ing early and deleted the offensive lines but kept the original lines.
There was only one real pocket of German resistance, near the Belgian border, but my template aptly named "tank pain" (heavy tank, Light tank, Heavy tank TD, and Infantry) joined that fray and eventually drove them out.
Even my infantry by themselves were taking on all German come-er's and when I flanked them with motorized, it was easy as heck to win those battles
By the end of the time I could play today, I had taken Frankfurt and Munich :D and added some more military factories to my own war-machine, which I used to make another production line of light tanks
However, though I have advanced naval ships, the Germans had more naval bombers, but in hindsight, I could def. have flown air superiority missions over the English Channel and what all else, instead of using what naval bombers I had to harass the german fleets - will do soon, as I have air superiority over western and Eastern Germany (much much air superiority - to where the air map has been green in those areas since war start :) )
Still learning the ropes, but it is quite fun actually going to war in this game, seeing battles tip in your favor when sending reinforcements, holding the line at Frankfurt with the Iberian army - as the Italian-facing army can always run down there if need be - which adds 23 more divisions.
The main German-attacking army has 30 divisions :) - all at least four lines deep in the division planner.
Some notes on colonial provinces: Italy has not sent any reinforcements to Ethiopia, but I have a 33 division army or so waiting for and surrounding them in Africa, my Middle East holdings have some naval power, but few land divisions, and my Caribbean holdings have less land divisions but around the same naval power as my mainland.
My Asian holdings are getting more land divisions but have half as much naval units as my Caribbean holdings.
If the China conflict comes to a head, I will modify the lend-lease or at the very least directly intervene against Japan :)...
But since I am currently busy with Germany and luckily Only Germany - since this was a limited war by them against the Czech's - I will modify the lend-lease with China before going ultra-berserk with them :D.
The Czech's have already fallen, since Germany apparently wanted them very very badly but I am fighting the good fight and will stop when I have annexed/conquered at least what the Czech's had. I will not go after Berlin Quite yet, but enough of Germany so that they will learn their lesson ;). My war-goal therefore is to reacquire the Czech state and give it back to them ^_^.
I will do this by pumping up my new German holdings, via the console, with more military factories and civilian and maybe some synthetic refineries and air bases to make the hurting not stop for Germany :D and if I have to give anything back via the "peace" menu, I will annex those territories via the console again lmao xDDD
It's only 1938 and Germany is hurting. What more could you want? I think this new World War II scenario just got all the more interesting and we will see the rise of either Italy or Japan as the major threat now haha.
Bonjour, mother-f***ers!
Nein!!!!!
Haha
