Offen, Herr Shankly, diese Position ich gehalten habe...

I'm ganking (is that real slang or did I make that up?) a meme from pygmalism that's sort of interesting. Take song lyrics and, through an online translator (like Babelfish), translate them from English to French, from French to German, and then from German back to English and post the results. Nutty guessing ensues! I've tried to do relatively easily ( Read more... )

The album version of this song makes me happy if for no other reason than the way Linnell sings the last chorus: "And I don't care if no one's comin' up for aaaiirr. *swoon*.

Oh yes, that bit makes me swoon too. And the way he sings "domino" on the album version.

#5 is totally "Hey Sandy"!

lol, I never noticed the "domino" part before. I love when he sings like that. I think something about it reminds me of a lounge singer.

And yes, "Hey Sandy"! I figured the translation including "Sandy" might give it away, but usually no one can even decipher the real lyrics let alone a garbled version.

Yes and Yes! I like how it translated into "I comes out this evening, but I do not have a point."

Haha, yes. It´s what I often feel like.

"Call of the robot rolling: (we let good go!) Cambot! (calm handle pot!) Bohémien! (good day, girl!) Servo of Tom! (which blows type!) Croooow! (it is more wisecracker.)"

servo of tom which blows type, oh, god.

3 is 'Man, It's So Loud in Here.'

Last year on the Beardo tour they did so many of their old songs for no apparent reason. I fell head over heels in love with the band for their live performance of 'Number Three' with the bass saxophone sample played so loud that its influence on my optic nerve made the room appear to vibrate. I kept going back to see them but they didn't do again what they did for Beardo, and now they've got twelve new songs they're playing so all the old ones are out of the rotation again.

Thanks for posting 'Nothing's Gonna Change My Clothes'! I hadn't seen that video yet. That was another one they did in Asheville last year. Man, if I had a time machine I'd go back and see that show again.

One thing I love from old live performances of 'Mr. Me' like the one in the 'Gigantic' extras that doesn't show up in the album version, the 'Other Thing' re-record or more recent live performances is that "ah-ah-ah" vocalization Linnell does over Flans's "yo yo yo."

I want to catch something that I might be ashamed of (a bennett cold) conal_cochran June 21 2007, 16:23:12 UTC
The Return Of The Living Dead has a great sound track. Do you want the links to the songs of one of the bands on the soundtrack? They will change your life, I promise.

They did Love Under Will on the soundtrack.
