I tried Keto, and it was very successful... to a point.

The details:

• I started Keto October, 2018 at 346 lbs
• It stopped working October, 2019 at 280 lbs
• 66 lbs in 12 months, that is 5.5 lbs per month, 1.25 lbs per week
• Just about what it was predicted to do.

I have suspected I was allergic to Aspirin since college days, so avoid it completely. When I have pain, I take Tylenol. But Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory, so as I age and get more inflammation based injuries, I need something I can use. I picked up the Audible book "The Light Fantastic" when author "Terry Pratchett" died this March.

I likely should have picked a more modern book, as the format and delivery of this one really was not my kind of book. I did enjoy some of the humor, and tried to enjoy. Fortunately it is a small book.

I finished the book "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" by David Shafer. It is a story about an organization that is snarfing up all possible data in the world to do analytics and build value, in a way you don't want and are unaware of. It is a reasonable story, but is missing many opportunities to play more on the topic. Overall I was entertained, but not ( Read more... )

This is just outright fun. The book "The Martian" by Andy Weir is a story about a Martian mission where through bad luck one guy gets left behind. I listened to this on Audible, and it is a fantastic production. Given that the book is mostly a first-person narration by Mark Watney, the poor guy left behind. I so very loved this trilagy. The book "Mercury Rests" is the third of the series by Robert Krosese. Totally religious spoof. Yet in the very end, when Mercury finally can Rest; you still are not sure. Fun time, especially if your religous belief can be flexible. I was not a big video gamer growing up, if I had, "Ready Player One" book, by Ernest Cline would be even more fun. As it is I enjoyed it, and hope that anyone that grew up playing video games reads this book. I epecially liked the Audible reading as it is read by Wil Wheaton, who has a staring role in the book. Actually tri-focals, progressive,  but... So I am officially getting old, I got my first pair of tri-focals last week.
