Rediscovering M83 Saturdays = youth. This medicine thing is hard. So much to know, so little time.

Grad school is stressing me out, need to find a suitable lab & research advisor/mentor.

Psych is over. Will miss it. Will evaluate further for future career.

Next up: Neurology.

Brain, and more brain.

Psych is awesome so far. A little emotionally drained, but nothing a good night's sleep won't fix.

Wrapping up the year with a 2 week crash course in clinical microbiology/infectious disease. Just dropped 500 on registering for the USMLE Step 1. Looking forward to spending some time in NYC, going to TX for a week or so, and then going into the wards for 6 months (3 month block of Neurology/Psych/O's and 3 month block of Internal Medicine) . Not sure if this is a good sign or not, but I tried abstaining from drinking coffee for the last 3 days and exclusively drinking tea. This temporary trial failed. I've been totally out-of-it, falling asleep inappropriately during class, during meetings, and unable to concentrate because I've been so sleepy.

Conclusion: Need coffee to function.

These days I'm way too busy to blog about politics and policy but with the winding down of the Bush Administration and the slow-mo trainwreck of an economy that we've been witnessing over the past few months, I feel compelled to jot down some notes for future reference ( Read more... )
