The Pats, the the Sox, and now you all make me happy. Love the case at the forfront allowing the relationships to asert thier effects on it (not only Rose/Peter - you had alot going on with many characters this time round.)

I love Penny - bringing Peter something to eat. Peter might find out what it really like to work with someone who respects and sare I say likes him. *grin*

As always Thursday is far away - hopefully see you soon in person. My turn to spend my time on the airplanes.

Ta!

Oh - first sentence should read (I think): The Pats, the the Sox, and now you all make me happy. Love the case at the forfront allowing the relationships to asert thier effects on it and the relationship's effects on the case (not only Rose/Peter - you had alot going on with many characters this time round.)

Stupid Monday morning mind.

You're a Patriots fan? *groan* I just had to run into one of you today, didn't I. *is a not-entirely upset Redskins fan, given that she expects them to lose most of the time, just not by 45 points*

At least I get a chapter of The Way of Things to make up for it...

Don't worry - husband is a Skins fan too. He spent the game groaning and encouraging them to score at least once. Really that game was a slaughter. *feels a little bad because I live in DC so long*

I've read this entire thing over the past week, and I am in love. This story has been so good so far, and I can not wait for the next installment. I like how you don't have an easy fix to the problem here, real life doesn't work that way, and this entire thing feels very real.
I'm glad that Rose is thinking past her hurt feelings, and comes back to Kendall sometime soon.

No problem! ;)

I've read this entire thing over the past week,

Oof. That's...yeesh, I've lost track of how many pages this thing has become. That's a lot of reading, at any rate. When this is finally done, I'll probably go back, sit down, and read it front to back. :)

I like how you don't have an easy fix to the problem here,

It's been frustrating, I'll admit it. I wanted them to have to work through things as any real couple would--because there are no easy fixes in life. Well, very few ones at any rate. And I've tried very hard to stay true to that, in spite of wanting nothing more than to turn this into the Smuttily Smutty Adventures of Peter and Rose, Shagging Like Bunnies. So...thank you. Not that positive reassurance hasn't existed, because it has--but it's nice to be reminded that the concept works. :)

Cheers!

The conclusion is in sight, and while I can't wait to find out the solution to this case, or for Rose and Peter to have their happy ending, it will still be an ending and that means my Mondays and Thursdays will be lesser for it.

Right on!

...but who will be the one to show up and surprise the other?

Or will we have a romcom moment and they'll each go to see one another and end up with Peter in London and Rose in Kendal? Or maybe they'll bump into one another at the train station/zeppelin field. Or miss one another because each assumes their counterpart would be taking the other mode of transportation, so they ignore their own personal proclivities...

Hooray for Penny for trying to lay down a little TLC on Peter. Even if it did involve mayonnaise (ew).

Egg mayonnaise = egg salad, for those who don't know.

Mmm, a nice curried egg mayonnaise on oat bread from Boots... *sigh*

Will it be only case-related or will she open up about her and Carlisle?Or will Jackie drill her mercilessly until she 'fesses up? I'll take the liberty of ( ... )

I was thinking more like Peter turning up at the train station or taking a train outright, hoping to run into Rose and Rose turning up at the zeppelin field or taking a zeppelin, hoping to run into Peter.

He’d made a quick stop for coffee, and had arrived at the station to find it empty.

Not willing to risk the heavens-knows-how-old station coffee? Can’t say as I blame him. :)

‘Course he’s probably also used to drinking it at paint-thinner strength, although I don’t know how his tum would take that right now, given his level of upset.

…the look on her face as he made love to her…

Are we done with calling it ‘shagging’ now? Thank you!

He’d certainly dreamt about women before, but not like that.

And given how intensely infatuated he was with Natalie, that’s saying something.

By his third cup of coffee, he’d finally succeeded in packing his memories of his dream away and managed to focus.

Oh, so he stopped off for grounds, assuming he doesn’t hide a coffee grinder in his desk. I guess he figured since it was just him, he could run a batch of the good stuff?

I have to admit I’m picturing him doing what one of my barista acquaintances does with his coffee - he makes a batch, then uses that as the water to make the coffee he’s ( ... )

I'm just waiting for jlrpuck to spring on us that it was someone entirely different, and not Swinson, who did the deed.
I think the point of clearing the Kendal folk was to ensure that if they needed to share their classified info, they could.

Like I said below, I wouldn't be surprised if the person playing Ten Little Indians is either a co-conspirator or their buyer.

If they weren't planning on sharing anything related to the nature of the tech with the Kendal police, I'm amazed they're not making sure someone from the team isn't with them at all times.

And it was hypocritical of him, really. He knew exactly why Rose had delayed in telling him. Or suspected, at least. Because he had done the same thing with Natalie. He had done worse with Natalie, honestly. Rose may have told selective truths, but she’d never told him an outright lie, and in the end she had come clean because she’d wanted to, not because he’d figured it out. He wasn’t entirely sure how he would have discovered the strength to confess to Natalie if Natalie had not found out on her own. The fact that Rose had been honest with him, eventually, was somewhat to her credit.

Ah-ha! I didn’t think it’d take too long for him to come around to this conclusion. What would he have done with Natalie in the long term if there hadn’t been the impetus of her finding him out? He was either going to have to break it off or tell her.

That bit of personal ass-kicking is completely justified, but I am glad to see he’s not totally letting Rose off the hook. Just because he’d done largely the same wrong once doesn’t right her wrong.

And ( ... )

I'd still like to see him come to a point where he decides he wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than he deserves.

I'd love for someone like, say, Jackie to tell him this.
