He’d made a quick stop for coffee, and had arrived at the station to find it empty.

Not willing to risk the heavens-knows-how-old station coffee? Can’t say as I blame him. :)

‘Course he’s probably also used to drinking it at paint-thinner strength, although I don’t know how his tum would take that right now, given his level of upset.

…the look on her face as he made love to her…

Are we done with calling it ‘shagging’ now? Thank you!

He’d certainly dreamt about women before, but not like that.

And given how intensely infatuated he was with Natalie, that’s saying something.

By his third cup of coffee, he’d finally succeeded in packing his memories of his dream away and managed to focus.

Oh, so he stopped off for grounds, assuming he doesn’t hide a coffee grinder in his desk. I guess he figured since it was just him, he could run a batch of the good stuff?

I have to admit I’m picturing him doing what one of my barista acquaintances does with his coffee - he makes a batch, then uses that as the water to make the coffee he’s ( ... )

I'm just waiting for jlrpuck to spring on us that it was someone entirely different, and not Swinson, who did the deed.
I think the point of clearing the Kendal folk was to ensure that if they needed to share their classified info, they could.

Like I said below, I wouldn't be surprised if the person playing Ten Little Indians is either a co-conspirator or their buyer.

If they weren't planning on sharing anything related to the nature of the tech with the Kendal police, I'm amazed they're not making sure someone from the team isn't with them at all times.

I suppose he's off the kaolin and morphine, poor lad. Back to the Rennie's for him. ;)

Oh, the word shagging will be used again. But...not for a few chapters. ;)

I guess he figured since it was just him, he could run a batch of the good stuff?

The sole perk of being alone in the station. ;)

Re-running the brew through fresh grounds? That is hard core I mean, in my barista days I used to down a proper cup of espresso. But that...*is impressed*

It is so weird writing about Peter while I’ve got Who Series 2 running in the background. Hearing that London accent is positively jarring.

I caught GoF the other day, after watching Blackpool, and it was absolutely odd. Not unlike hearing Firth do an American accent, actually.

I wouldn’t put any of this troika past killing one another thus far, or caring that much about which of the others did or didn’t live. They're not a terribly sympathetic ( ... )

After all that coffee without putting anything else on his stomach? No kidding!

The sole perk of being alone in the station. ;)

Or perc? *ba dum dum*

Oh, the word shagging will be used again.

In a positive frame of mind, there's nothing wrong with it. I just don't like it when he's using it to try to deny his feelings.

Clearly, an argument could be made that it *does*, but Rose is on a steep learning curve, as well. ;)

Rose did share information with Peter and his colleagues. It's the other Scoobies who took it upon themselves to blow him off while she was away.

Unless you're telling me she told them not to talk to Peter.

More to the point, what was the point of clearing him and Penny (and Ian, et al) if they weren’t going to share enough information to let the locals be useful?

I think perhaps Peter was referring to the team, and not Torchwood in general. As he says, he's not on their list of favorite people right now because he hurt Rose, plain and simple. I should hope that they wouldn't stoop to that level, though.

However, I can see Mickey trying to pull something like that out of spite, since Rose is in London for the foreseeable future. If so, I'd hope James and Jake (probably the latter) would have enough sense to stop him--it would piss Peter off, once he found out, and it would hamper the investigation. It'd be a bit like cutting their noses off to spite their faces.

*sigh* Strike what I said about them not stooping to that level--I forgot that they're already done so.

Sorry. I've got no excuse, just that I apparently have the dumb today and can't brain.

The theoretical big problem with all this being if they fail to tell Peter (et al) something and someone ends up getting hurt as a result. Not cool.

It doesn't seem like Rose wants to keep Peter and his team in the dark, though.

She doesn't seem to, but she's not there...

Do you think the rest of the team will exclude Peter against her wishes?

That could end badly for many of the parties involved...

Now that she's a) specifically pointed to James as being the point man (she mentioned him first deliberately, I'm sure), and b) told them in no uncertain terms to coordinate with Peter, I imagine the boosh may end at this point. I can't imagine Mickey would volunteer for the role of liaison to Carlisle, and Jake and James would probably know better than to let him have that responsibility were he to do so.

There's always the possibility Mickey might still withhold something, but other than the journal pages they're still faffing around with, it doesn't seem like he's in charge of any information that might get Peter and the other Kendal folk hurt.

I can. Mickey might volunteer for the honor in order to devise a situation in which he's alone with Peter, so he can give him that right hook he's been dying to give him since Rose came back to the hotel from her last date with Peter. That, or to purposely keep Peter out of the loop. That wouldn't last long, but it would be long enough to piss Peter off.

Now that I think about it, though...not to slander Mickey or anything, but the second option may be a bit too devious for Mickey. He's not the sort to make up and execute complex plans. He's more of a spur of the moment person.

As for the first option, though, hopefully, as you said, James and Jake would have more sense than to allow him to take on the job.

I can picture Mickey maybe commenting 'Sure, I'll liaise with him,' while punching a fist into his other hand. And then J&J would look at each other and then say 'NO!' in unison. :D
