The conclusion is in sight, and while I can't wait to find out the solution to this case, or for Rose and Peter to have their happy ending, it will still be an ending and that means my Mondays and Thursdays will be lesser for it.

Right on!

...but who will be the one to show up and surprise the other?

Or will we have a romcom moment and they'll each go to see one another and end up with Peter in London and Rose in Kendal? Or maybe they'll bump into one another at the train station/zeppelin field. Or miss one another because each assumes their counterpart would be taking the other mode of transportation, so they ignore their own personal proclivities...

Hooray for Penny for trying to lay down a little TLC on Peter. Even if it did involve mayonnaise (ew).

Egg mayonnaise = egg salad, for those who don't know.

Mmm, a nice curried egg mayonnaise on oat bread from Boots... *sigh*

Will it be only case-related or will she open up about her and Carlisle?Or will Jackie drill her mercilessly until she 'fesses up? I'll take the liberty of ( ... )

I was thinking more like Peter turning up at the train station or taking a train outright, hoping to run into Rose and Rose turning up at the zeppelin field or taking a zeppelin, hoping to run into Peter.

Aww, egg mayonnaise sandwiches are lovely. And to give one to a snacking machine like Peter, Penny was being quite thoughtful.

A nice egg mayonnaise provides solid nutrition - probably much better than whatever random sweets Peter's got tucked away in his desk, assuming he'd even be up to eating them today.

All I know is he'd better eat that damn sarnie or he's either gonna snap or wheeze out like a popped balloon.

I practically lived on those when I was studying over there and went traveling for the weekends-- I remember particularly fine ones in York.
And he definitely needs some fuel, especially with all those deep thoughts :0)

Doorstoppers, pasties, fish n' chips, or a nice curry!

What can I say, I'm a cheap date in England.

Ohhh. Pasties for the win. (They're big in Michigan, too, especially in the Upper Peninsula.)

Pret a Manger makes a divine Hummus sandwich, with cucumbers and Peppers. I'd recommend their spinach and egg mayonnaise sandwich, but...not your speed, I'm afraid.

Pret also sells a fantabulous cookbook, with recipes for every single thing they make. *sigh* I miss Pret, and don't get up to NYC often enough to take advantage of the ones up there.

Beyond that? I heartily second the pasties and fish-n-chips. Ooh, or a jacket potato with beans! Mmmmm....

We're ostensibly getting at least one Pret A Manger in DC.

The closest thing we have to pasties right around here would be Julia's Empanadas, which are yummy and baked rather than fried.

If you ever get over and down to Fredericksburg, Virginia, I highly recommend Sammy T's both for their hummus and their falafel sandwiches.

Of course, if you're in this area one would presume you're more likely to hit one of the Lebanese Tavernas or Zaytinya...

If you're in DC (versus Fred'burg) and want a falafel sandwich, you simply must hit Amsterdam Falafelshop, in Adams Morgan - not only is the falafel great, but they have a to-die-for fresh toppings bar. Totally different style from Sammy T's (which is more like a hummus patty), so you could even do both in a single trip without feeling duplicative.

The AF folks run M'Dawg Haute Dogs right across the road, which is open similarly late hours and does a variety of specialty dogs, plus fish n' chips. And then there's the aforementioned Julia's Empanadas, Tryst, So's Your Mom Deli, and Cashion's Eat Place... A-M is a great restaurants neighborhood.

Anyway... my favorite store-bought hummus brand is Sabra. The roasted garlic and lemon versions are particularly tasty.

CPK is an interesting beast, because I like their sandwiches and their salads and soups, but find their 'za well-nigh inedible.

ZPizza, on the other hand, I'm liking everything so far. We've just gotten one up the street from us.
