An Outdoor Thing
Peter sighed happily, contentment radiating through his body. He and Rose were once more at the cottage, had taken advantage of an unusually warm weekend to drive up from Kendal and simply hide. The zanzare had finally sussed out that Rose was, in fact, dating him; wasn’t simply using him to meet some physical needs, or to amuse

For Shame! For Shame!

Would it help if I said that, having got away with this once, they'll do it again? I even have a half-notion that the glad is where they eventually conceive, but I'm still not sure about that idea.

Can't decide if I'm glad or sorry the zanzare didn't find them in the glade! *grin*
Gorgeous as usual. I love the earlier peek into Peter's mind - that there was a time when he thought he'd never want to actually MARRY Rose.
Butbutbut.... no Thursday update? None?? *flails in panic* I'm sending a squad of Adipose bearing plots (I gather they are just as cute as bunnies!) in hopes that Thursday will bear Peter/Rose fruit. ;-)

Er...I have an unhealthy obsession with a fictional, flawed, character played by a hot Scotsman, who provides ridiculous quantities of inspiration? (I'm also alarmingly prone to suggestions and ideas and plot bunnies).

I had written, in A Yorkshire Thing, that even he was surprised by asking Rose to marry him, but I'd never really conveyed that idea.

He began to brush soft kisses over her face-along her jaw, across her cheeks, over her forehead, down her nose, finally stopping once more at her lips. This time she stirred, stretching as she finally awoke from her slumber.
...*and* he brought her coffee? There is no better way to wake up.
Peter had felt a flash of hope that he’d be invited to share the tub with her
I just just picture the expression on his face--How was Rose able to turn down the prospect of wet!naked!Peter??? She must have been building up some serious immunity.
Rose had smiled as she saw the farmer, had given him a hug and a kiss on his cheek
Did she meet him in A Surprise Thing/A Contemplative Thing or is this more of a any-friend-of-Peter's thing?
The feel of her hands dancing across his skin, the warmth of the air, the sensation of kissing her in this glade- ( ... )

The thing is, he could just move down to London without them moving in together - although it seems like that alone might freak her out.

And this is an idea I've been noodling with since before then. Waaaay back, the original idea *was* to have Chapter 16 be an outdoor shag. But it just didn't work...and so here it is, as a ficlet.

She met him after A Contemplative Thing--she and Peter would have gone up to Graeme and Eirlys's for supper the night of their morning make-up sex.
I love that Peter gets overwhelmed by the physical/emotional double whammy that is Rose in this place.
I just couldn't see him staying level-headed, not with the combination of place and sensation.
Right now, he's got everything he could possibly want, and I'm not sure he quite believes that it's happening.
Poor Peter. There are more than a few times that this happens for him, too--where things are exactly as he'd always dreamed, but he still can't quite believe he's so darned lucky.
Glad someone still has half a brain ( ... )
