Castle...everyone should watch Castle. Seriously. This show is awesome. It's stylish...hilarious and...well...just all around awesome. ^_^
For those unaware, it stars the awesome Nathan Fillion in the title role, big-time crime writer Rick Castle who's in need of a little inspiration. He uses his connections with the mayor to score a gig as a consultant with the NYPD. There he meets up with the beautiful Kate Beckett (played by Stana Katic) and she quickly, rather against her will really, becomes his muse. Castle creates his newest character after her, Nikki Heat. So, he follows her around helping solve the murders and she lets him because...well...she's got a soft spot for him. And no choice really ;)
Stana and Nathan have incredibly awesome chemistry together. They fill every scene with so much UST that their fellow crime-solvers, Esposito and Ryan (Jon Huertas & Seamus Dever respectively), never waste a moment to tease them about it. And they are constantly in a state of denial about their painfully obvious mutual attraction. Only time will tell when they will finally admit it...though I feel that Castle is very much aware of his feelings for her...
Asides from Castle's relationship with Beckett, there's also his 16 year old daughter Alexis (Molly Quinn). I love their scenes together. Despite is somewhat childish antics, Castle is really an awesome dad. She keeps him in line as well. Then there's his mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan)...who is always hilariously awesome.
Another thing that I like about this show is the role reversal. Instead of having the big macho guy be the one holding the gun, Kate Beckett routinely checks out crime scenes while ordering Castle to stay behind in the car (she even handcuffed him there once in a rather hilarious scene)... You don't really want Castle to help you out in a fight anyway...as he's not particularly good at it...
