Season Five of The X-Files is filled with many personal favorite episodes (I personally feel that seasons 4-7 were the golden years of X-Files)...but my absolute favorite episode of the show has to be the season 5 episode "Bad Blood."
It is hilarious. It's basically a 'he-said-she-said' sort of thing. We start the episode off in Texas with Mulder making a bad decision...but he swears this guy was a vampire. Oops...the teeth were fake... Flashforward to Washington DC and Mulder and Scully find themselves in a bit of a HUGE lawsuit. Mulder wants to know what Scully's going to say and she wants to know what he's going to say.
Mulder narrates his 'version' of events, painting himself as the victim to Scully's overbearing, whiny behavior...whereas Scully's version of events shows her as the one who is constantly take advantage of in the relationship...they each try to one up each other in the 'feel sorry for me' department.
Each version of events is hilarious...especially the autopsy scene from Scully's story...but each story is so outrageously out there that neither can possibly be the entire truth. I figure that the truth is somewhere in the middle but we never really find out.
Also this episode features the appearance of a young Luke Wilson as the Sheriff that Scully has a thing for...and Mulder is jealous (Scully: "He did not have buck teeth!" Mulder: "He had a slight overbite").
BTW, if you happen to have a Netflix account with instant watch, this episode is available for instant watch ;) Actually...the entire series is, but this one is Season 5, episode 12 ;) If you feel so obliged... :)
