Amelia's body is fighting whatever toxin they gave her, but reality still hasn't quite stabilized. She's had that sinking pre-seizure feeling for a while now, but nothing actually comes. She wishes it would; maybe she'd get lucky and her brain would hemmorhage.

She senses the same thing Phillip does. She won't die by his hands, or her brother's. He is gone. This won't happen this way. The idiots bound her near this chair, eh? And they all want what's in it? With the strength she has and a speed she didn't think she was capable of in this state, she's got Corrine up in front of her. Shards of crawler leg are sharp. "EVERYBODY back down!"

He looks nonplussed with the group to the right of him. His focus is on Amelia. He had a feeling this might happen.

"Please put Therese down, Amelia." It's a very patient tone even if his eyes don't look it.

Amelia's eyes are so focused now on the groups in front of her, she hasn't even noticed the slight shimmering beneath her.

She hears, however, singing.

"Her boyfriend's back, and you're gonna be in trouble..."

With one motion, Sand has Amelia up and over in a judo throw...that sends her flying across the cavernous room, landing hard into a concrete post on the far side.

He then stands, and glares at the assembled. "Her name...is Corrine."

Who, by the way, is now in the center of the circle of heroes.

Take them.

*With pleasure.* comes the voice from everywhere.

It was a unique thing for him - taking pains to be as bloody obvious as possible to help hide Sand's presence. He brought himself and whoever else wanted frontline duty in fast and hard, slipping their leader in well cloaked.

The others can follow up.

The Lantern phases in, glowing bright and radiating power - they're mages, big displays usually mean nastiness. Except, this being Travis, he's just trying to draw fire while the others get in position and select where they feel their talents help the most while he takes the opening salvos for them.

Louis drops what he has in his hands and is on his feet. Holy hell, Amelia wasn't kidding when she talked about their forces.

He grins over at Crystal, mustering power that shakes the room and brings lightning in the middle of the group, intent on breaking their ranks.

Guess what move Sand's got back in his repertoire?

Sand shifts downward into the ground, and comes up directly UNDER Louis...leading with a six-foot wide column of earth that shoots him straight UPWARDS into...hopefully through...the ceiling.

The look on Louis's face is priceless. Barely a foot from the stone ceiling, he disappears, reappearing fifteen feet from the floor. He makes a crunch when he lands, but rolls and is back on his feet, if unsteadily.

Teleporting always makes him slightly nauseous. The ground shakes again and a gale rallies up, blasting any and all in his range away from he and Crystal. A shield goes up around them and something of an orange tint rolls in like mist, making precise location hard to determine and making the air feel considerably thinner.

Seeing no one taking him up on his light show, Travis switches into 'help' mode. Illusions are useless against him, as is trying to draw his air away. He responds with a blast that turns into a rain of tiny, burning sparks over the whole area Louis could be in. They won't do that much, other than set combustibles alight with a green fire and sting a bit, but it ought to highlight him nicely for Sand.

Angela moves position in a haze of blue, solidifying to one side of the group and blocking passage in that direction.

They have a chimpanzee? She laughs, a mist of same hue encircling him and slowing his movements. "Absolutely endearing. The pet comes to defend its owner."

"Yeah, but I'm here to kick the ass of said pet," the Chimp replies.

Even slowed, a chimpanzee is pretty fast. He moves forward quickly, moving towards her with bared fangs and clenched fists.

The blue haze appears again and Chimp goes through her. She's behind him now.

"Let's play 'catch', then."

"Ah, ah..." He closes his eyes to smell her current location. None of this illusion crap. "I don't play games with a pet that makes a mess on the carpet."

And he leaps towards her.

High above the fray, Magique now comes into view. Based on their collective analysis of the situation, they determine that the Green Lantern is their primary target.

They speak in a tongue not used on Earth for thousands of years.

We have it.

They then descend and surround Travis.

They speak in unison. BLINDED BY GOLD

Oh sheepdip.

Brainwave moves from his position in the corner, trying to get into closer proximity with the three. Brainwave to team. Mental link infiltrated, Magique's riding along. Working on eviction. Travis, she knows your weakness.

The spell was actually a simple one - his ring hand has been encircled by a pure yellow sphere of energy - intended to not only take his ring out of the fight, but also, per her cursory read of Travis during battle, his own blindness and dependence on the ring.

She then notices Brainwave.

We summon the agent of the succubus. The nightshade. By the three, arise.

A being of pure darkness emerges from the energy circle created by the trio of witches, and flies right at Brainwave.

The sight of them ... of her disappearing sends a shock through him, but he fights the panic. He knows that sort of foolishness will get her killed.

Either her, or the other her.

He feels out the area, in seconds finding the rather familiar feeling of Amelia’s soul, and the easily identified flood of magic pouring off of Phillip. He teleports to their location, arriving just after Travis throws his punch. It’s a sight for sore eyes.

Caleb telekinetically separates Phillip from Amelia, and even spares a moment to dispel the yellow inhibiting Travis before racing for Amelia.

Tara still has an arrow trained on asshole. Before he gets a chance to answer that rhetorical question about people without the courtesy to be dead, she fires - serrated tip with a vial of the Catholic Church's finest blessed water.

Angelo, the Angle Man, is not a happy boy. He was promised a lot of money for something simple, and now there's a chimpanzee, a freaking out slut, and someone talking about not staying dead. Plus, they're all crude.

Oh! For the days of Wonder Woman and the Louve...he thinks as he cuts a wall between the archer and her intended target.

A well-timed distraction.

Louis blinks back in, just behind Caleb. There's no real intent behind this hit then to just lay distraction. In his absence from the field, though, he retrieved a nifty thing Amelia felt privvy to bring them; Corrine's sword. Caleb will feel a slice across his backside and Louis disappears again.
