Buh-bye Buh-Bob's ( a flashback )

Recently a building near me was torn down and it really brought some memories back. Mind you the business itself that was originally there has been gone for at least a couple decades, but I recall the Bob's Big Boy so vividly. That was the first truly large burger around here... and of course had their awesome secret sauce Thousand Islands on it ( Read more... )

Heeeheeee ! As a kid I did not eat salad (we simply did not have it at home) and I had no idea what Thousand Islands was LOL. It really was secret sauce (Bob's sauce back then) to me.

we had a bob's big boy right down the street from us growing up. it started as a locally owned burger joint called updike's that had the best onion rings and shakes. then when they closed up bob's big boys opened up. i could see the big boy on top of the restaurant from my bedroom window. haha

I want a koi pond with the Big Boy statue on an island in the middle of it. I still find it an iconic image.
