Another Odd Odd Dream (and an Odd Coincidence)

First, I have come to the conclusion that interaction with melatonin really impacts the vividness and the strangeness of my dreams. In this case I had taken an Excedrin PM just before bedtime, after taking my scheduled melatonin earlier. Anyhow, on to the dream :

I was called at home and told there was a crisis situation at the airport. I ( Read more... )

Why do you think you like Reality TV so much? What is it about it that you like?
Curious.

I think it varies. WIth "Survivor" it was just love at first sight. I found the concept and the people so interesting (some seasons are better than others... but the basic concept still rocks for me). I have only basic over-the-air TV, so my options are limited... and I hate most sitcoms and am tiring of cop / detective stuff... so I find myself drawn to the greedy / desperate nastiness of reality TV ... "Bachelor" / & "Bachelorette" is my idea of the perfect sitcom, "The Amazing Race" shows me an incredible world while being a fun competition, and "Big Brother" is a somewhat claustrophobic fun ride that just hypnotizes me LOL. Hope that explains a little... as even I am not sure what all draws me (Heck, when I had cable I even watched "The Real World" / "Road Rules" on MTV despite the appallingly self-absorbed young people they focused on).

I love reality TV too.
It's more than just the entertainment factor. I think of learnt about people too - quicker than life and experience could have taught me. I'm thankful for that.
Survivor has taught me that some who are the most decorated in society are the most stupid when it comes to good old common sense. And those that blow loudest about how great they are, aren't. Ordinary people can be the smartest.
Stuff like that.

I learn a lot too... about others and me.

I have learned that sometimes I judge too harshly (When Phillip essentially took one for the team I was left speechless).

I learned, especially through shows like The Bachelor (ette) that some of the best looking and seemingly most "together" people are even more full of doubt than me.

Yeah... watching shows like "Big Brother" I also learned that many people are willing to go far more outside of their comfort zones in life than I ever would.

Yeah, you are right... those who call themselves geniuses are not always too full of common sense.

And for me it is indeed in many cases just so entertaining... many of these people are not "perfect" (even on Survivor where they tend to cast "hotties") and I can identify with some on very personal levels.
