So now we have the story of Seio and Bruce's relationship...Color me satisfied. I love the idea of people loving Bruce for (and despite) himself. And, oh Clark, you big goofball, who wouldn't be interested in a big blue Boy Scout from Kansas? Must work on self-esteem, darling.
"As satisfying as anything is that doesn't being my friend back." Did you mean bring instead of being?

It's about the only way Bruce could ever be loved, isn't it? He's too stubborn to be charming with anyone who really mattered...

It's true...he hasn't quite gotten down the whole "I like men (or, at least, Bruce)" thing quite yet and is rattled. :)
Oh, and thanks so much for catching that typo! *goes to flog beta*

I was very satisfied with that. :) And to be taken down by such a total moron as well...that had to sting. :)
i found this line really interesting. that Bruce would think Clark has the (power? right? ability to do something?) hm..right to take the boy away from him...his anger is telling in that he obviously hasn't picked up on Clark's growing attraction but ...i found this even more telling than the anger. .I don't think he's worried Clark will try to take Dick away per se...just that he'll disapprove and say he shouldn't be raising a child. I think that would sting enough (even if Bruce has no intention of giving up custody) that he would dread it. I kind of imagine he's been worried that Clark finding out he wasn't straight would strain relations with him, just as he was ( ... )

I had tried to post a reply earlier but LJ ate it!
*sigh*
Anyway, let's see if I can remember what I said...
I loved this chapter. Bruce playing up being the big dumb american and doing it so well...
*grins*
I loved that he got back at Matsunaga they way he did... It hit the man where it would hurt him most.
It was wonderful that Clark found that so endearing!
This was an excellent update!

I enjoyed writing the take-down very much. Clark thinks Bruce is pretty awesome, actually. *grin*
