so, i just got out of the hospital. a few nights ago i woke up in the middle of the night with an incredibly awful pain in my side. the next day antone and i went to the doctor and he just sent me home with a prescription and a pretty pricy bill. he said i just had a urinary tract infection. but that night i got a really high fever and it got a ( Read more... )

We checked into the El Dorado Plaza Hotel yesterday morning, and were amazed to find a mini bar, a nice double bed, a shower that had water pressure and even a bath. the place smelled nice, even. it was amazing. we decided to go to an artisan market that we had heard about, and in getting a cab we made `friends´ with this guy who wanted to come ( Read more... )

Antone and I finished writing from Vilcamamba last tuesday, and got all our stuff together before heading over to the bus station where we got on a bus that filled up in seconds with all the school kids going home for lunch. In Baños, you look out your window, and all you can see is mountain. Green, lush, mountain. It´s spectacular. You go outside and the little city/town of Baños is completely surrounded by almost 70 degree angle mountains on all sides, most of them covered in vertical farms. pretty impressive.
