As much as all of this upset me, I do understand this decision. They had to make quick decisions. They didn't have tranquilizer guns, at least not enough. They were faced with the possibility of mass killings/injuries of people if they didn't control the situation quickly. As it is, one officer was attacked by a bear, and the man who killed himself was bitten by a tiger (probably) probably just after he killed himself. (So his body.) They were getting 911 calls from a widening area reporting lions, bears, jaguars, tigers, wolves, and animals that people weren't able to identify. They had to make a decision/devise a plan quickly before the animals got away
