Chapter 6: Intoxicated With Jealousy

Unknown to herself, Seul Gi’s love for Yunho slowly awakened the darkness in her heart, for jealously had intoxicated her to a point of no return. Jaejoong’s presence in her life caused her to notice the insecurity of her position.

During the past week, Yunho and Heechul had been focusing all their attention on Jaejoong. They tried all the tricks they had up their sleeves to put a smile on Jaejoong’s face.

It was not unusual for Heechul to be friendly towards someone new, but for Yunho to be doing the same thing was unprecedented.

Even Yoochun ignored her for he was too busy 'laughing' along with the new additions to their 'group'.

Seul Gi thought, 'I need to do something about their abnormal behavior. They’re just going through a phase with Jaejoong. They pity him because he looks so helpless. They probably just feel bad for him. Yeah, that has to be it. As for Yoochun, he’s probably just tagging along. They just need to get over this phase.'

She somewhat reassured herself with these thoughts but as she remembered the events of that week, jealously once again surged through her body, filling her mind with anger.

She remembered the little details of every encounter Yunho and Heechul had with Jaejoong. She remembered them leaning their gorgeous faces closer to Jaejoong’s, trying to start a conversation but Jaejoong didn’t even pay any attention to them, which only encouraged them to try harder. What’s worse is that they’ve already started calling him Jae instead of Jaejoong.

'I don’t think I can take anymore of this. Something must be done.'

------- Flashback ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Jae, your lunch looks so good! Let me have some…” commented Heechul as he tried to steal a piece of sushi from Jaejoong.

“If you wanted a piece, why didn’t you just buy yourself sushi since you bought this one for me.” stated Jaejoong matter-of-factly.

“Aw, come on Jae, its just one piece. Let me have one. Just one.” whined Heechul as he pouted.

Looking at Jae’s troubled expression Yunho decided to intervene. “Yah, Heechul, stop acting like such a girl. Can’t you see that Jae doesn’t want to share with you? Stop annoying him.”

Ignoring the last part of Yunho’s comment, Heechul only heard Yunho calling him a girl.

“Am I really like a girl? I’m not a girl. I’m really manly.” he said as he tried to flex his arm muscles.

“He’s only like a girl when he pouts, whines, and tries to steal Jae’s lunch.” whispered Yoochun to Junsu. This comment elicited a giggle from Junsu’s mouth.

“Stop trying to show off your nonexistent muscles.” joked Yunho, with a smirk on his face.

“Jae, am I really like a girl?”

“Well you’re only like a girl when you pout and whine and try to steal my lunch.” replied Jaejoong dully, although inside he felt himself giving into their childish bickering.

“We’re going to make you smile one day Jae, you just wait!” shouted Heechul and Yunho as they high-five each other behind Jaejoong’s back.

Yunho whispered under his breath, “One day you’ll smile for me.” But Seul Gi heard it.

'How long have you guys been together?' thought Jaejoong to himself as he smiled inwardly.

“Just get married already.” shouted Yoochun and Junsu exasperatedly.

“No! You guys get married already.” shouted Heechul and Yunho in unison.

This made Junsu blush and Yoochun smirk.

------End of Flashback --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The part that angered her most was that despite all the attention given to him, Jaejoong rarely responded to their playful banter. He remained expressionless. The only feature visible was those sad, pleading eyes. Gosh, those annoying eyes.

A knock on the door broke through her train-of-thought.

“Come in.” ordered Seul Gi as her 'butler' entered holding a file.

He handed her a sealed manila folder and excused himself with a bow.

'Just what I needed.' thought Seul Gi as she opened the envelope viewing a picture of Jae clipped on the very top of the pile.

As she looked through the contents of the folder, she scoffed at the information she read. She thought back to their first lunch, “So, Jaejoong actually didn’t have money for lunch. He’s poor.”

This gave her an idea and a plan began to form in her head. She picked up her phone and dialed a familiar number.

She impatiently tapped her manicured fingernails on the glass table while she waited for the person on the other side to answer.

“Hello?” came a young male’s voice.

“Hey Changmin, it’s Seul Gi. I need a favor…”

After several minutes of persuading, Changmin finally succumbed to her plan and she hung up with a smile on her face. She was good at what she did. She knew how to manipulate and use the weakest point of a human: emotions.

Jaejoong’s very existence made her suffer; therefore, it was only fair to return the favor.
