I cant seem to get on a normal sleeping schedule. I keep waking around 10am. This will not do. My sleeping pattern is impossible to shift earlier. later yes. I'd recommend the Idiot's Guide to Getting to a Good Night's Sleep. It's actually very good, and has detailed sections on sleep hygeine and such. It also explains a lot of the so-called "sleep phase disorders".

You can also use melatonin to help you reset your clock. But you may also have to recognize that you may just be an innate night person with a strong tendency to sleep between 3AM and 10 AM. I'm like that.

One thing about melatonin is that it resets your clock. So it may, nor may not, make you sleepy when you take it. But if you take it at the time you want to go to bed for a few days and just chill out afterwards, it should start reseting your clock to go to sleep at that time. At least that's the theory and your mileage may vary.

I also think that I might have restless legs syndrome because alot of the time I can't sleep becase my legs want to be doing something else and get sort of spasmy.

Being out of work can do that. I was sleeping untl 10am for about a month and then I got a job interview for 9am. Screwed up my sleep for the day but wasn't too bad.

I am beginning to think 10am is way too late, even though I have no activities to motivate me to get up earlier, other than the cats waiting to be fed.
