Perfection is boring. Computers make perfect things. Imperfection is interesting and beautiful.

Let fear go.

Turn off the inner editor

Let the creativity flow! Don't stopper it with perfection.

Nature is perfectly imperfect. Think about a leaf.

Own your own strengths and talents and experience.  Believe what is being reflected back to you.

My mantra is always: "The first draft is always crap." :D

Oh man. I don't think I could even get a first draft out if I started out with that mantra. I guess it works for you? I mean, you must think parts of it are salvageable, right?

LOL, well, it frees me from feeling like I have to write something that's perfect and great. I can ignore passive verbs, awkward sentences, things that don't make sense, gaps in scenes, etc. I always feel like if I can just get something down on paper, then I can work with it and improve it. It's the getting something down to start with that's always the hardest for me.

Oh, ok, that makes sense to me. It's related to "ignore the inner editor" for me:D

Um...for the cat-crystals in the urine, or urinary tract blockage which is most commonly evidenced by your cat crying in the litter box because he can't go.

Life threatening and in urgent need of veterinarian attention.

Oh no! Poor kitty! Why does this happen?

It's usually a matter of poor diet (too much magnesium) and a cat that's susceptible. It's more common in male cats but other than that, I don't think they've figured out why some cats are more prone to it than others.

Ok! This is an excellent ailment to befall my poor fictional kitty. Looks dire, but can be easily solved right? What does the vet give you for it?

My mantra is just get it out of your brain, make it nice later :D

Maybe the cat ate something it shouldn't have? We have rat pellets here, which poison vermin, or maybe snail bait in the garden, to attract and kill parasites. Sometimes pets eat things which can make them sick very suddenly.

Also, cats fight all the time, and if one cat bites another, an abscess might form, which is not always visible straight away. A day or so later, the abscess fills with pus and is usually detectable as a bit lump at the site of the bite. You'd have to go to the vet, have it lanced and drained, or the cat could die from blood poisoning. That's quite a serious thing which would need to be urgently treated when the owner suddenly sees the huge lump!

:) Works for me!

I think I'm going to go with k_nightfox's idea of crystals in the urine. Thanks!

Oh, watched Privates yet? planejane and I both want you to see it:D

Nope, haven't watched ANYTHING at all in the past few days, I've been a very busy bee, writing and drawing. I will absolutely watch it though, for sure!

Ooh, just thought of another one (happened to the dog, but could go for cats as well)
A bee or wasp bite - whole head swelled up and eyes were red and puffy, needed a few injections, - although the vet said afterwards I could have used a kids antihistamine!

LOL! Ooooh, that is very cute. Maybe I'll use that one. Looks awful, right? Might not work for an indoor cat.. Hmmm, maybe it could.

It didn't look too good (actually very weird with her nose and ears all swollen, and the fur all sticking out and the whole face was just puffy!) but it could have been life threatening if left - her breathing and heart-rate could have been affected. (cats sometimes chase flies inside the house, so it could work?)
I don't know if you guys have ticks?? (like fleas) they can be very life-threatening, causes paralysis (not nice)
I'm just a bevy of diseases now!:)
(I'll have to go and watch Bondi vet for you now!)

Oh man. Sounds awful.

I don't know about the UK either. We have ticks, bees, wasps here.

LOL. I don't know what Bondi Vet is, but writing h/c fic for a cat is kind of um, interesting.
