Ooh, just thought of another one (happened to the dog, but could go for cats as well)
A bee or wasp bite - whole head swelled up and eyes were red and puffy, needed a few injections, - although the vet said afterwards I could have used a kids antihistamine!

LOL! Ooooh, that is very cute. Maybe I'll use that one. Looks awful, right? Might not work for an indoor cat.. Hmmm, maybe it could.

It didn't look too good (actually very weird with her nose and ears all swollen, and the fur all sticking out and the whole face was just puffy!) but it could have been life threatening if left - her breathing and heart-rate could have been affected. (cats sometimes chase flies inside the house, so it could work?)
I don't know if you guys have ticks?? (like fleas) they can be very life-threatening, causes paralysis (not nice)
I'm just a bevy of diseases now!:)
(I'll have to go and watch Bondi vet for you now!)

Oh man. Sounds awful.

I don't know about the UK either. We have ticks, bees, wasps here.

LOL. I don't know what Bondi Vet is, but writing h/c fic for a cat is kind of um, interesting.

Don't have ticks here in Melbourne, but I know they are in NSW and QLD (it looks horrible, and really traumatic)
I know Bondi vet gets shown in the UK (along with Bondi Rescue - lots of backpackers drowning! ) A chiseled chestybonds vet surfing and tending to sick animals, the kids love it!

h/c cat fic, umm, yeah, good luck with that (LOL)

I have a tick trauma story. We had an old dog that was infested with ticks. They thought he had between 200 and 400 ticks on him. *shudder*

Heh. I think it's a stand-in for the h/c Merlin/Mordred scene I want to write. That will be next.
