I've also done my Fantasy League team, caught up with LJ and Ebay plus collected a box from our neighbour upstairs. For once, it wasn't him farting or burping, just moving about ( Read more... )

Cheers, got loads of unhealthy stuff, yeah!

I work for a local authority, advising people and helping collect a tax that funds schools, fire/police, public services etc. Using Bailiffs (unfortunately) is one of the methods of making people pay...

I've never understood it when people come into work when they're really sick. It's good that they don't want to let people down by having a day off and all, but spreading germs around isn't going to help anybody.

If they really want to help, they wouldn't make other people ill too!

There's one guy who never takes any day of his 30 days' holiday entitlement. He needs psychiatric examination.

YES, that'll make for a wonderful 2ish weeks of fun, hopefully! It's so worth it this time of year. All the food and the sleeping and the gifts and the FOOD, makes work seem like so much... work!

This happens where I work as well. No one wants to use their time off, so they come in, suffer, and pass their germs on to other people who won't take off. Hand sanitizer everywhere! Who doesn't like sick days, I just don't get it! It's the perfect excuse to stay in bed, WHY pass it up if you have the time to use for it?

It's been good so far, even if it's been just getting a decent amount of sleep, watching 'The Snowman' for the millionth time and looking forward to a Christmas special of 'Man Down' (check it out if you've not heard of this weird comedy...

YES! I don't understand these people. They are NOT under pressure to not take holidays, we have holiday entitlement and an active Union, if managers try any funny shit. Gah!

The thing is, as a bloke, do I use hand sanitizer?! Sensible though it would be... Of course not!

My work SUCKS if you're unwell, no sick pay period. Even for planned operations :/

That's awful. It encourages people to come in, even when they shouldn't be in. Considering what you've told me about your work, that's definitely NOT a good thing!

I realise I'm lucky... which is why I'm getting my operation done while I'm definitely at the Council and can take paid leave.
