Happy New Year, still here

I've been pretty out of the habit of posting here lately. But since it's a new year I might do better...although I'm focusing more on tori_reviews where I'm about to start some new projects if you aren't following me over there.

But for right now in case you were wondering about my thoughts on the DC-CW stuff...

Now you might be wondering if I'm going to review the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, and yes I plan to, I just have no real interest in watching it. I lost what interest I had when I realized they were splitting it across the winter break instead of it being five consecutive nights of a mini-series. I'm sure I understand the logic of trying to get people hyped over the break, but for that to be successful...you kind of need to care to start with.

The truth is, the ratio of Arrowverse characters I like to ones dislike or just don't give a damn about is pretty bad. It's why I'm only watching Arrow any more and didn't even give Batwoman a chance. With the arguable exception of Legends, I also feel like Arrow is the least respected of the Arrowverse shows; but unlike Legends, Arrow is still expected to play well with others.

Characters that I would care about seeing are almost certainly not going to show up (Felicity and Rip for starters), and characters like Barry and Kara (both of whom even I know would die if this was hewing closer to the comics) are going to be treated like perfect angels when I have moderate to high dislike for their characters and their morals. I'm sure Batwoman being the new cool thing is going to be built up as well, and the Legends continuing to be such hollow shells of their former selves (those that ever were more than hollow characters) are just going to piss me off. The fan-service stands a good chance of taking over too much of the story and I'm 90% certain little to nothing that happens here will ultimately matter once the shows go back in their own boxes, they'll find a way to save relevant universes and everyone the heroes care about will be fine so they'll go on like before.

Except maybe for Arrow, since this has gotten all mixed up the final run of that show, and possible spin offs and whatever. So I'll probably watch the whole thing as my own week long mini series (or just a couple nights) once they finish the last couple episodes, but I might be knitting while I watch it, I really don't care that much.
