I have my grandmothers second edition hardcover of the Water Babies with most of the color plates still in the book. I wonder if I could manage to scan the images without damaging the spine of the book? I'd love to have copies of the plates to hang up as art, but I don't want to damage the book.

I wonder what ever happened to the bronze sculture of the children playing in a tree that used to decorate North Hills Mall (in North Richland Hills, now gone) over by where Stripling and Cox was ( Read more... )

For my birthday, I decided to do something fun. I got tickets for me and my sister to go see Jeff Dunham in San Antonio. It was awesome! I bought the tickets from stubhub since I didn't plan early enough to get decent tickets. We got there, and the lines were crazy. Well, I finally got my furniture moved this weekend. Worst moving company experience I've ever had. I can't recommend the Apartment Movers, ever, to anyone. They destroyed one of my bookcases, ripped the top off my jewelry armoire, scratched the crap out of my dresser, and were overall slow and somewhat incompetent. I'm now a homeowner. :) Now I have to start packing and cleaning and stuff. Tomorrow will be hectic since I've got the electrician coming in the morning and the plumber in the afternoon, plus I'm supposed to go out to lunch with friends. But yeah, I have a house now. It's pretty surreal.

I'm planning to buy a house. I'm so frustrated with my apartment lately it's not even funny. They've been getting incrediby annoying over the past few months. For the amount I pay in rent, I can afford a house, and I'd rather be building some equity instead of throwing money away. I only have a few minutes online - I'm borrowing an internet connection from a neighbor of my sister. I'm fine, everyone is fine. I have no power, phone, or water at my place, but I'm okay otherwise. Also, my sister had a baby yesterday! I have a niece! More later. She's really cute though. :)

I'm not looking forward to the weather tomorrow. Is there anywhere in the world without disastrous weather/natural disasters? If so, I want to move there.
