As I wake this morning, the popular vote is squarely in the President's corner, with over 3.5 million votes separating the two big candidates. I can understand a difference of 500,000 votes being a VERY close race in 2000, where the popular vote was not in President Bush's favor, causing a lot of turmoil from the Democratic camp.
