The problem with DC is how...fickle they seem in their story lines. It's like there is no respect for the consistency of creation, or the will of the original creator for some reason. It's like a neverending blasphemy - rash decisions more inane than some two-bit soap opera.
But I do like Blue Beetle. When Cully showed me his designs aways back, my mind exploded. It's in a place where his art excels, and I'm not just saying that 'cause he's family. I really like how his art is the first issues showcases his architectural and perspective skills. XP Wish he'd go back to drawing it regularly. I love how he redesigned the whole thing, and I ♥ his character design. So, yes. Buy the "Cully" art ones, to support the man!
Woah! You're related to the original artist?! How exciting! Yes, I do love his Blue Beetle character design. It's so badass yet cute! (if that makes any sense...) ^o^ Is he working on anything else? I'll totally support him for sure! (I'm just still currently pissed at DC is all...) Wow...it is an awesome design, damn livejournal's a small world! I'm totally in love with JaimeBlueBeetle, I squee every time I see him. Tell Mr. Cully he rocks! Does he have a website? I want to showcase it! ^o

I totally understand what you're saying. It's the lack of care that seems to go into what could be a solid storyline. If they want to please the fans, they can at least bother with making it linear, you know? And editing is a vital process in any art.
As for Cully, he's my mom's little brother. ^^ So, my uncle then. Right now he hails from Gaijin Studios in Atlanta. (http://www.gaijinstudios.com/)

Question: You think its' "so sad" that people don't like the new Blue Beetle since he replaced their Blue Beetle. You refuse to buy DC because they ruined your Batgirl. How do you reconcile that? Are your actions "so sad?" Not trying to be a jerk or anything; I just find that these one-person boycotts against entire lines even when the lines are publishing things that they like are kinda silly. I respect the feelings behind the actions, but you aren't doing anything but depriving yourself of a good book that really needs the sales.

Do I know you? You're not on my friend's list. You seem familiar but I can't place you...I wonder how you found me. Since I'm just a little fangirl, why are you bothering to post here

Your post was linked on the link blog "When Fangirls Attack." Generally, it compiles articles, journals entries, podcasts, etc. dealing with issues involving women and comics.
I see what you're saying, but it still sounds to me like the people who refuse to buy legacy heroes. You never know when shitty Blue Beetle, shitty Firestorm, and/or shitty Atom will show up (let's not get started on the various GL camps).
Will Blue Beetle end poorly. Maybe, but that's the thing about comics--you can't be sure which will happen exactly month to month or creator to creator. I find it exciting, but others may see it as nerve-wracking. There are trade paperbacks of the first twelve issues and they are well worth it. Plus buying TPB is the one way to ensure that the companies see what the consumer and not the comic book stores, actually buy (the way they calculate comic sales numbers is odd). Will the book go to shit? Maybe, but you'll always have the good issues on hand.

THE FUCK?!
I find it exciting, but others may see it as nerve-wracking.
I kinda see that as a waste of money...but it must be nice that you can afford to piss away money like that. I know at least a hundred ways in which to better spend $200 a year than having to continually deal with a "hit or miss" product. But that's just me. (but the TPB are a good idea...still...I'm cheap)
My wallet is my wallet and I'll spend the money in it any way I want to and I don't have to answer to anybody about that. If I want to rant about how unsatisfying I find a certain company's line of products, I can do so. If I want to say that they only have one good product, but predict that it won't last...therefore explaining why I, personally, don't want to INVEST in it...I CAN

Seriously...nothing. She's in limbo right now. And there is no hide or hair to be seen or read of her. It's as though she NEVER existed. Quite irritating really.
Ah, Brenda, that's her name. Really? Should I be surprised? >_>
LOL...aw man, that sucks for her and fans. ^^; Maybe she'll find herself a love interest other than the hero...and he'll find himself jilted for once? XD;;
