Ah, the possibilities! ext_3216359 July 6 2015, 11:45:40 UTC
How perfect as I just received a brand new notebook for my birthday yesterday. Truth be told I have a desk crammed with notebooks in various stages of "filling". I like this idea of writing poetry in the process of writing prose. Really gets to the essence of the project but in a more intriguing way than just jotting down a few notes. I am looking forward to White Page Day - I love a fresh start!!!! Thank you! {P.S. I am currently reading and loving Read Between the Lines}

I too love new notebooks and I'm thrilled I get to open an new one for Teacher's Write. My list is about the book I am currently editing. It isn't a long list but here goes.
This is a story about forgiveness
Fathers, sons, families
Abusive teachers
Holier-than-thou preachers
The past, present and future
Amish forgiveness
Friendship
Loss
Kidnapping
Hunting for what is lost
Cutting
Forgiving when it seems impossible
Change
The meaning of love

I never thought of taking notes in poetry form....but I like it. Here's mine:

Two young girls
both voiceless,
both with a lot to say.

Struggling,
facing fears,
trying to cope
with everyday life.

Wanting to be normal.

Searching for ways to
communicate
and connect.

But through the struggle
empathy and compassion
grow and flourish.

Setting an example for those
who don’t understand
that even though it may be hard
to communicate
it is not impossible and
it is a vital part of life.

I like this. It sounds very interesting. Makes me wonder why they are voiceless.

Wow! This is a story I want to read. Reading Jo's post and this 'list' and completing my own made me wonder if we're always telling our own story, in a way. My list has roots in my experience, for sure, as yours seems to have as well.

Got it. Sorry, I get an e-mail and then have to "unscreen"

I am the child of parents who were 39 and 40 when I was born. I loved them. Lost Mom when she was 63 and I was 22 and then Dad about 10 years later. I got married later in life and do not have children and am past the time for bearing them. I have 120 students instead!

I would love to read this story.
