I met Dr. Beausoleil today, the gastric bypass surgeon. He's a very nice man. He wanted to assure me that my weight problem is not my fault, it's a disease and it can be treated. He's putting me into a six month monitored diet program before I can be approved by medicare for the surgery. I hope I don't fail, but that's my low self esteem talking as ( Read more... )

Hey if you ever need support in this arena I'm your gal. I'm currently trying to stick to the whole healthy eating and working out thing (again!) so far only the regularly working out part seems to really be sticking right now.

Have you read Dr. Phil's weight loss book? There are some really good excercises in it. Especially ones about analysing your inner thoughts and how you set yourself up for failure. I found alot of the book didn't really apply to me but the stuff that did was light bulb moment worthy.

Hugs hon. Hope you managed to fit in some sleep. What do they say? "No news is good news" Sorry it wasn't a yes or no, but this is a step in the right direction, and you won't fail, I have faith in you.

I didn't get any sleep actually. The doctor was called way for an emergency and my appt that was suppost to be at 2:30... I didn't see him until about 5:00.

And you're my favorite lady from across the pond.
