I'm totally going around in circles over this finale, I know a few spoilers, but nothing major and I've no real idea what's going to happen. As fast as I think I make sense of one thing it means that something else doesn't make sense. I just don't think we have enough information at the moment, or the writers have over complicated things and things we're thinking are important aren't going to be relevant ( ... )

The only thing I've heard was a hint that why Dean has none of the powers Sam does is an issue that might be touched upon. Which makes me intensely curious, of course, but which could be taken to reflect upon the idea that maybe he doesn't because they're not as related as we thought -- and I really don't want that to be the case, so.

Ugh, you're right. We just don't have enough information. *bangs head on desk*

ITA about the hotness. *g*

That's why I was wondering whether the amulet wasn't so much to protect Dean from something else, but from himself, that he does have powers and doesn't want them or to acknowledge them.

I just can't handle the thought of them not being brothers, it would make a mockery of everything we've just watched.

*sigh* I haven't felt this passionate or this invested in a show for a long time, I can't believe I'm actually worrying about what's going to happen and what it's going to mean to all the fans.

I would be more inclined, the way things appear to be shaping up, to think of the amulet as protection from himself. But that may be just wishful thinking on my part. It DOES give one potential answer to why one brother has psychic gifts and the other appears not to. Whether or not it's THE answer, well, uh.

WORK. Gah. Don't wanna.

so they are definitely demon related.

That's a VERY good point.

Ugh. I'm all kerfluffled.

But it brings us back round to maybe Sam isn't John's doesn't it and.. I just can't see that happening. Although isn't there some vague spoiler about Sam finding out something that changes everything, or changes something, or...something.

I think the demon infected him or gave them to him? Or it's just a side effect! Maybe Sam is to be used... but then Meg wanted to kill him, not keep him alive.

OH it HURTS MY BRAIN!

Read the kitty news. Was strong and avoided the spoiler paragraphs (mostly because I'm so afraid of what they portend for Dean).

I am so sorry to hear about Sophie. She looks absolutely adorable. I lost my cat a few years ago and it's hard - they are such a part of the family. I admire that you're going to make sure her quality of life doesn't suffer. That's a very difficult thing to do. I hope you have lots of loving moments with her, as I'm sure you already have tons of warm memories.

*HUGS* FWIW, there aren't any real spoilers, I don't think -- I've heard a couple of hints, but nothing substantive, so this is just conjecture on my part. I think I'm going to avoid hardcore spoilers myself, see if I can stand the temptation. *g*

Sophie...is quite a little lady. *nod* Thank you for the kind words -- it does mean a lot.

Their not being brothers would make quite a bit of sense, especially for the slashers, but... yeah, I can see where the drawbacks are now you've pointed them out.

I can't help thinking it all comes back to Mary. Something she is, something she did. And that would explain the apology to Sam, because although both brothers had their lives changed by her death, Sam has now lost Jessica.

And John at the end of Home asking Missouri about Mary's spirit saving the boys, the look at his wedding ring - and then saying he couldn't see them until he found out the truth. I think the truth is about Mary.

It might also explain Sam's gifts - inherited from Mary. Might Dean have gifts himself that we haven't yet seen? Could be, although I tend to favour a more feet-on-the-ground Dean.

As to the amulet - it's some Egyptian thing, isn't it? I think it's just an amulet, not relevent to the big story arc - but that we might get a story out of it later - a flashback maybe?
