Janet was still trying to decide between three dresses. She'd gone to Stuff For Sale and chatted with Cameron, Isabel, Sam and Parker and Liz, as well as Alanna and the somewhat-late D'anna.

Daniel woke before she did, and was lying in bed next to her. He leant his head on his arm and just watched her.

Janet had managed to kick off all the blankets in the middle of the night, so now she was slightly cold. She rolled over in her sleep and woke up just enough to discover that Daniel was there. And he was warm. She scooted closer to him without bothering to open her eyes.

Janet covered her mouth and yawned. "I'm not awake," she murmured.

"I have absolutely no desire to tell General Hammond any time soon," said Janet, shaking her head. "Could you imagine the lectures? Or maybe we'd get lucky and he'd just be happy for us." Janet stuck her tongue out at him. "Trying is a good first step. And that's what I was trying to tell her! But you know how Sam gets." Janet nodded, her face still buried against his chest. Which was, admittedly, a very comfortable place to be. "You're not upset about that?"

"That's good," Daniel sighed in relief. "I'm pretty sure it would involve lectures. Lots of lectures." He leant down to kiss her. "I'll do my best. And, yes, I really do know how she gets. I'd say something to her, but I don't think she wants to hear from me anytime soon." He sighed again. "I can't take you, so why shouldn't you go with someone you already..." He started blushing wildly, and trailed off.

"We could probably predict the lectures. 'You've waited this long, Dr. Jackson, couldn't you wait a couple more years? He was, if I recall correctly, your patient, Dr. Fraiser.'" Janet sighed and returned his kiss. "I'm too happy being with you to have waited. I'm sure if you don't lose track of important life events, and she doesn't have to force me into going to prom, she'll be fine." Janet sighed along with him. "Someone I already what, Daniel?" asked Janet, hoping he couldn't see her blush.

"Yes, and being able to lecture myself on at least part of that, I really don't want to hear themfrom someone else," Daniel nodded. He smiled. "I'm glad you're happy being with me. I can't imagine not being with you now. I know when your birthday is! And hers!" Lots and lots of blushing. "Um. Already, um, have a relationship-type-thing with?" It was too early in the morning for this sort of thing.
