If it weren't for the lack of pockets, he might've been tempted to wear it for more than just one day.

Wait, so even in the future, uniform skirts don't have pockets? What is up with that?!

Haha! I went to a Star Trek convention once where Robert Picardo, who played the Doctor in Voyager, mentioned that it used to be a bit of a race among the actors for who could cross their arms first in a scene, because the uniforms didn't have pockets, and if you didn't manage to be the person with crossed arms, then you'd just have to stand there with your arms at your sides and try to look natural. I wanted to reference that in a story, but the uniform trousers in Star Trek XI did look as though they had pockets, so I turned it into a joke about the uniform dresses.

It's definitely a flaw in their design, though, I agree. :-)
