4 years ago (May 2007) I was at a house party. The same man hit on me 4 separate times. He was severely intoxicated and quite demeaning. I went downstairs where the music was playing to hang out by a friend.

There are millions of women out there who view this as the way things are and never contest it the way you do, they need to educated about their rights as much as men need to be re-educated about what's acceptable behavior around women.

I have another example that stands out. There are many, but this one was pretty traumatic, and recent. I was in Czech Republic last fall and had many great times with friends, but there was a perpetual creepy guy who hung out near our hohotel in the main square of the city (warcesaw? Sp?). I decided one evening after dinner when everyone else was going to their rooms to go out and explore. No big deal right? This man was a black man living in Czech who spoke the language, but was not from there. He followed me the minute I hit the street, so I ducked into the nearest bar. He was leering, and being quite obvious. I eventually left when I saw that he wasn't around, made it one block, and he was there. He told me clearly in English "I'm going to rape you bitch. I'm going to have you". I was fucking terrified. I spent the rest of the evening ducking him, and trying to seek help from police, who all claimed not to speak English (though the next day at the police station, most did speak English). I couldn't go back to my hotel, and I ended ( ... )

Thanks for sharing these, Jaf.

So many people, men and women, don't get this. That women do feel threatened and are still seen as objects for men. It's really disheartening.
