I spoke with the younger Luke briefly. This place never ceases to surprise me.

Nor I. Perhaps next they will bring me when I am old and feeble. [light laugh. Oh lord, why his life right now?]

Just because you are old does not mean you must also be feeble.

It was just a figure of speech; dramatic effect, a writer has to keep interest some how.
How have you been lately, Ms. Sophie?

The same person has been here at different points in their lives, but never two of the same person. Sometimes they remember being here, sometimes they don't.

That hardly makes sense, then, why they'd even want me here twice at once.

That assumes "want" has anything to do with it.

I don't see how "need" fits into it, either, but I'm sure they're getting a good laugh either way.

. . . That's like, totally uncanny. Where's like, mini-Luke? I've just like, got to see this.

He lives on 947 Beulah Lane. Just try not to frighten or upset him. It's kind of weird for both of us.

K. Maybe I'll like, give him some time to adjust first.

So. Everything died down now? No more acid rain, deaths, or unwanted returns? If so, I believe there's an explanation I still owe you.

[Flora was headed to the kitchen. Food sounded delicious right about now, and that turkey had been...
Then she noticed Luke, writing furiously in his journal. Curious, she went to look, briefly skimming the entry without thinking.
Suspicions? What did he mean?
Her face became flushed when she realized it was a journal entry, and almost turned to walk away, when he began his relations.
It was interesting how he wrote about them, and she couldn't tear herself away.
Then he got to her, pausing briefly on her name. Without thinking, she asked:]
What are you going to write there?

[half way through a heart, his pencil turned immediately and he erased it suddenly.] It's nothing, my mind was drifting.

[She stares a long moment, slightly hurt by his action.] O-Oh. I see.

[He goes like he's going to write again, but stops as his pencil touches the paper, the closes the book and turns to look at Flora.
At first smiling,
but, then he saw her expression,
and he frowned too.] Is something wrong?
