Two years on
New Director at the Museum and after a year changes are beginning to come. It's an exciting time - we're working through a strategic plan and began the first inventory of the collection since the mid-1980s. Came home from work Wednesday having taken Thurs & Fri off and saw there were two packages on my porch. When I got to the door I saw that my front window was broken - from the inside. My insane Irish Terrier didn't appreciate the delivery guys on the porch and tried to go through the window. I was afraid to go inside because I didn't know what I'd ( Read more... ) -
carpet burweed
My advice is to not wait until that pretty bright green stuff in your yard develops burs the size of dimes to start trying to get rid of it. I admired it until I really took a look at it and realized it was a new problem in the yard. The best areas are where it has sprouted in the midst of bur clover - two noxious weeds in one! -

Hickory, 5" planks, glued and nailed. Sort of hand planed and an aluminum oxide finish for durability. Janka hardness is 1820.

Windows 7
How fast time flies - the Vista machine has gone through the promised metamorphosis last night and is now running Windows 7. It's the first time I considered upgrading a Windows machine - even with the upgrade software being free from the manufacturer. Not as easy as a Mac OS upgrade, but so far a pleasant surprise.
