Raven was rapidly becoming worn out by goodbyes, but she wouldn't let Hoshi leave without one. "Who am I going to talk to about Rumor Gal now?" she pouted.

"You can always call me or email me on Monday nights, and we can talk about the latest episode," said Hoshi, giving Raven a smile. She straightened up and put the dog biscuit inside the pet carrier sitting on the bed.

"Of course!" said Hoshi. "Who knows, I might come rushing back after a few days with my family. Besides, Joan and I are getting an apartment that's not too far from the causeway, so I might be visiting a lot."

"After what he saw at graduation, my father was worried that living at home would be too boring for me," said Hoshi. "As for the captain, he and I don't talk much these days, but he wrote a nice letter of recommendation to help me get into a civilian linguistics program at university."
