Eating problems

How do you persuade a toddler to 1)eat food, and 2)eat fast? What does one do if punishments (or to look at it in a positive way, imposing sanctions on rewards/treats) don't seem to work (i.e. the child prefers to go without them as long as she doesn't need to eat any more)? What does one try if trying to reason with the child by asking for reasons ( Read more... )

In my experiences with similar behaviors, it's an attention-seeking thing, I think. Kind of that, "if I don't eat, they pay attention to me to get me to eat" thought process. Instead of asking her why she won't eat, just ignore it and see if that works.

Though I really hope she starts eating soon.
