Well, looks like jjpor was right... they're not renewing Mammoth Season. *pout*

However, according to the rumors flying around on the messageboards, both ABC and Dark Horse Comics are interested in the property. A comic book adaptation would be awesome, but just not the same as a TV show... on the other hand, ABC's adaptations of BBC shows tend to be... bland. *sigh*

I'm tiding myself over until I hear more news by knitting a Mammoth-Season-inspired sweater. Sadly, as I am not a time-traveller, I cannot use actual mammoth wool.

*more pout*

WAIT. BUT. BUT. WAAAAAAH. Maybe they can do both? Best of both worlds or... evening out the worst, or something. I don't even know, I just need more Mammoth Season in my life.

Also, re: sweater: I. AM. SO. JEALOUS. Maybe you can break into a museum and steal some DNA to clone it and... no? Okay, I tried.

Can't we, I don't know, write the BBC letters, or send emails or sign petitions, or SOMETHING??! I NEED TO KNOW HOW THE STORY ENDS!!!

Welcome to Smylesboro Season One galaxysoup April 5 2010, 20:30:57 UTC
Okay, so I'm catching up on reruns of Welcome to Smylesboro and I've just finished Season One and all I have to say is... wait, what? Daisy? For serious? But I liked Daisy! What? I think there has to be something else going on - it just seems so out of left field.

I did like the way they handled the aftermath of the arrest, though - too many shows just sort of skip out on how these big events affect the characters and it was nice to see them try to deal with it a little in the episode (and on a side note - Ryan, I love you. You are such a big dork and it makes me happy inside).

Also... was it me, or do Ryan and Thomas have a little sumpin' sumpin' going on?

Uh, yeah. Seriously? Daisy, honey, there are better ways to keep someone from opening a bed and breakfast. Like asking nicely and NOT KILLING PEOPLE.

Not to mention we won't get to see Allison Mack any more if she's locked up in the hoosegow, and I like Allison Mack!

And, you know, insightful character development stuff. That too. ;-)

The Fourth Wall, 1.06

Okay, first of all, I fear I have finally bowed to peer pressure and begun shipping Nick/Abby all over the place. I didn't want to get invested in the pairing, since I'm almost positive Nick and Mike will switch back at the end of the series, but they're just so adorable. Especially when taking each other's weirdnesses in stride without batting an eye. And the way she held his hand when they saw Lacey on the video. *melts*

That said...

HOLY SHIT LACEY MIGHT STILL BE ALIVE AGDKFDIERNDNKFDSLKFD. As I noted above, I am not a time-traveller... but if I were I would skip ahead to next Monday right now to find out what happens next!

Wait, begun shipping? How did you last this long? I'm pretty sure they'll switch back too (just because... I feel like they have to, somehow), but that just leaves the fandom plenty of room to speculate how they carry on a long-distance/cross-parallel-universe relationship. And you thought going to college in different states was hard.

LACEYYY. I... was weirdly unsurprised. Like, not that I was expecting it, but I saw her and just thought, of course she's still alive! Maybe because I felt like since everyone else is alive in both worlds, it wouldn't be fair otherwise? I don't even know how my brain works. POINT BEING, we better be seeing her again soon.

Okay, I admit it, I've been secretly shipping them all along. But I was all, "nope, not gonna get invested. Not gonna write fanfic. Not gonna 'aww' when they have a cute moment." This week was just when my resolve collapsed.

Tamaline: 1.03

OH SHOW YOU DID NOT GO THERE. WHY DO YOU TEASE ME WITH OTPS INVOLVING CHARACTERS THAT DIED TWO WEEKS AGO? The flashbacks with Annabelle being all cute and helplessly in love while she was prattling on and on to Phineas, and James just being like, "She didn't call me Jamie, nobody ever calls me Jamie" and Tom just shooting Janie all these awkward looks while realization slooowly dawned on everyone else's faces oh my GOD. (Except Phineas', obviously. I really hope he gets to have more than one expression on this show, because he's so damn pretty.) It must suck being the only smart person in the room. And oh man, Janie just standing there having no idea how to deal with finding out that the girlfriend of the guy she's in love with was in love with her ( ... )

WORD on both the OTP-of-doom and the giving of actual explanations. Is it sad that having such freely-given exposition makes me instinctively doubt it? It just can't be that easy, something else must be at work here!

How much did you love Thomas' expressions during the whole explanation scene? He's like, "Hello, town of crazy delusional people!"

...Now that you mention it, not at all. I don't know if the writers are just not trusting the viewers to be smart/patient enough to stick with it, or if in two more weeks they're going to be like PSYCH. Either way, I am worried.

So much. Oh my God. I love all of Thomas' faces, but that one might be my favorite of all time. I also love the progression of reactions he gets as his cases get weirder and weirder.

...And now I kind of want to make a Tamaline drinking game just so I can shout "Drink!" every time Thomas facepalms (or does the expressional equivalent - he's too controlled, fortunately, to just go around smacking himself!).

Cooking Up Murder was brilliant as always.

More Doctor Who references with JJ's "Who the Hell do you think I am? The Doctor?" The Harry/JJ bickering was adorable and Harry smacking JJ on the back of the head when he got a little too excitable. Yay for finally getting a changing room scene with JJ and Danny changing clothes. Did anyone see what JJ's tatttoo was of? I want to say 'wolf' but as it was only a brief glimpse, I can't be sure. JJ giving his full name to that girl at the estate agent's office, "Jonathan James Lyall, but people call me JJ for short."

Did anyone else get a 'Moonlighting' vibe in this episode with the girls against the guys investigations and the bickering?

Ha ha! I knew the tattoo was a wolf! More evidence! *rubs conspiratorial hands together*

End-Of-Term has devoured me at the moment, but I really need to write that werewolf fic.

Hehe, I think they are definitely hinting at JJ being a werewolf. LOL With all the wolf imagery and names in there, I'll cry if it doesn't go anywhere.

And, yes, you must write that werewolf fic.

This show kills me. Also, always makes me hungry. But mostly kills me, especially with all the flirty-flirt-flirt. Can Harry, JJ, and Danny just have a threesome and get it over with?
