Welcome to Smylesboro Season One

Okay, so I'm catching up on reruns of Welcome to Smylesboro and I've just finished Season One and all I have to say is... wait, what? Daisy? For serious? But I liked Daisy! What? I think there has to be something else going on - it just seems so out of left field.

I did like the way they handled the aftermath of the arrest, though - too many shows just sort of skip out on how these big events affect the characters and it was nice to see them try to deal with it a little in the episode (and on a side note - Ryan, I love you. You are such a big dork and it makes me happy inside).

Also... was it me, or do Ryan and Thomas have a little sumpin' sumpin' going on?

Uh, yeah. Seriously? Daisy, honey, there are better ways to keep someone from opening a bed and breakfast. Like asking nicely and NOT KILLING PEOPLE.

Not to mention we won't get to see Allison Mack any more if she's locked up in the hoosegow, and I like Allison Mack!

And, you know, insightful character development stuff. That too. ;-)

Man, I love the first season. Will have to dig out my DVDs, because seriously, that show is awesome. I also seriously love it when a show actually works with continuity and events before actually still have an impact on them in the future (shocking, I know).

Does the first season have any good special features? I really liked the second half of it, but the first half was... well, I'm glad they changed up the creative team, even if there was that whole hullabaloo afterwards. Good special features are always something to take into account when spending sixty bucks on a boxed set, though!

Yay Ryan/Thomas! Even if Ryan/Daisy was kind of cute the whole murder thing really puts a damper on it. Plus they're just so dorky together, I love it.

It's that Theo doesn't make them promise not to kill people that gets me. He just makes them promise not to do it secretly. Which is... progress, I guess?
